Iconic ‘Fireball’ styling
Kawasaki returned to the roots of the Z brand, choosing the iconic “Fireball” pattern of the original Z1 for the 50th anniversary editions of the retro sport model Z900RS and Z650RS. Gold-coloured wheels reminiscent of custom wheels available for early Z models further contribute to the old- school retro styling. Complementing the rich colouring, the frame is finished in gloss black.
Special painting process
A special painting process was developed specially for these models. The candy colours of the tank and bodywork are applied in layers to bring out a deep, glossy texture that enhances the inherent beauty of these machines. A commemorative “Z 50th” logo decorates the top of the tank.
Special seat
Special seat leather has a texture distinct from the standard model, as well as different colour stitching.
Modern Retro Styling
Like Kawasaki’s retro sport Z900RS, the Z650RS features timeless good looks. As a middleweight model, a light and casual appearance reflects its rider-friendly character. Dual-Dial Instrumentation with Multi-Function LCD
Analogue-style speedometer and tachometer dials are complemented by a multi-functional LCD screen, balancing retro-style looks with modern functionality.
Parallel-Twin Engine
Optimised for everyday riding, the exciting Parallel Twin engine offers quick response, strong low-mid range performance and favourable fuel economy. When opening the throttle, riders will notice a smooth and powerful engine character offering both a high level of control when making minute throttle adjustments and a gratifying rush of acceleration in the lower rpm ranges.
Relaxed Riding Position
Wide, flat handlebar and a relaxed riding position puts the rider in a natural, comfortable position that both inspires confidence and facilitates control for a wide range of riders.
Brakes
Dual ø300 mm front disc brakes and ø220 mm rear deliver plenty of braking power. The round discs contribute to the bike’s retro sport image.
Spoke-Style Cast Wheels
Original cast wheels like those of the Z900RS feature flat spokes designed to look like classic wire-spoked wheels. Designed using Kawasaki’s advanced analysis technology, the wheels offer a balance of light weight and stylish looks, contributing to both handling and a design suited to the retro category.
Lightweight Trellis Frame
One of the key contributors to the Z650RS’ light weight (noticeable as soon as the bike is lifted off its sidestand) is its innovative trellis frame. Weighing 13.5 kg, it contributes significantly to the bike’s light, natural handling.
Horizontal Backlink Rear Suspension
Horizontal Back-link rear suspension offers a progressive character. Compared to link-less type suspension, it delivers a better balance of sporty performance and ride comfort.
All-LED lightings
A blend of retro and modern designs, the ø130 mm LED headlight casts a bright, white light. it features two chambers (low-beam/high-beam), both with position lamps to ensure the whole lamp appears lit, like a retro-style bulb headlight. The grooved design on the thick headlight ring adds a modern touch.
